New Home owners

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Well….the deed is done. Barbara and I are officially new home owners (again). Now we are soooo poor it isn’t even funny. Lets hope the house in Pennsylvania sells quickly. The weight of two mortgages will be heavy. Not too heavy we can’t carry the weight, but heavy enough the trips to the movies will have to be put on hold for awhile.

We love the house and are excited that this move back to Kentucky is going really smooth. Things are falling in place nicely. The movers arrive Saturday morning with our stuff…that should be fun (not), but better them than me. I expect the first piece of furniture off the truck will be a sofa…I will need something comfortable to supervise from.

Until then, we plan on staying where we have the necessities, a bed and broadband (corporate apartment). Don’t get me wrong, we coordinated for these necessities in the new house too. Broadband is being turned on tomorrow morning…can’t even think of going without that!

Enough for now…

We need to take a trip out to OUR house and drop off a load of crap from the apartment.

RSS Spam from Me

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

All subscribers –

I am sure you are wondering why you are getting what seems to be duplicate rss updates from my feed.  Well…I moved my blog from one blogging tool to another.  It was a little tedious, but I moved what I perceived to be the important or good entries.  This tool is much easier to use and customize.  I recommend WordPress over the other tool (unnamed on purpose).  I am sure there are plenty of folks using the other one and are quite happy with it, and I am not trying to invite comments about who thinks what is better and why.  If you feel the need to tell me what you use and why you think it is GREAT, then please do so.  I am open to suggestions.  My parents taught me (probably the same lesson you learned) long ago, “How do you know you don’t like it if you don’t try it”.  Well I tried it.  I didn’t like it.  Enough said.

Again,

Apologies for the spam.

Transition Nearly Complete

Friday, May 4th, 2007

I know I haven’t posted in awhile, but if you know my situation, I think you’ll understand.

I have been in a state of transition. I quit my job with the toothpaste company in New Jersey and started a new job in Louisville, KY. I have been staying in temp housing since the 25th of March and was without a personal machine at the apartment until my wife came down for a visit on the 18th of April. We have been very busy in the last month or so. To say the least!

Some of the events that have taken up my time: traveling back and forth to New Jersey for visits, filling weekends with house hunting and National Guard training. In all of that, we found a house. I took some time to plot out the map to the house so I can refer people to one spot (here) for Ky Home and a Google Map for directions.

I hope you enjoy and look forward to seeing you all this summer at the house warming party!
